Swearing is a sign of  limited Intelligence”

Taboo language. “Fuck”, “Shit”, and “Bollocks”. Ron Weasley’s famous saying was “bloody hell”
encapsulating taboo language in a whole different culture let alone a whole different level.

Swearing is said by many to be the signs of lack of intelligence; however scientists argue that swearing is an essential part in the human language, aiding with emotional and physical pain, creating a higher threshold to pain itself; almost withstanding an ideology that there is  a stronger more powerful sense to the actuality of language, than just the words written on a page or simply spoken.

As well as common knowledge that the F word has the versatility to slip itself into any sentence creating the F word to be one of the most highly used lexis’s used across Britain let alone the world. For example: the term “Fuck off”, can create a wide range of emotions and opinions some could be: happy, “well fuck me”, angry “Fuck you”,and  sad “I’m feeling fucking brilliant” (let’s not forget the sarcasm)  This could tell us, that wit and the knowing of what could be funny, and the type of scenario and situation has to apply when feeling the urge to express oneself is important, leaning towards the scientific evidence that intelligence is needed to be used, in order to get the correct message and meaning across to those without purposefully offending those or in fact doing just that.

So if taboo language is known to be of ones aid, why does it have such a reputation? Is it the way in which it is said? Is it the idea that it is a pseudonym for an even ruder word? Although I can’t imagine, a ladies private area being much of an insult. Although I guess screaming “VAGINA!” as you pass by a BMW is an exhilarating experience. However how did a simple part, let alone right of a women end up having so many semantics? I’m calling sexism.

It just shows that anything in language has the adaptability to become passive aggressive, and insulting. Whether screamed, whispered, or straight out uncouthly spoken, making it an automatic “taboo term” However then again, the word taboo has many a meaning. Taboo language can be one from swearing to talking about the simplest most human thing. Sex. From this, I have decided that taboo language is one of which makes those uncomfortable, and rather than being just offensive, it’s the feeling of your hair standing on end when you’ve just overtaken an asshole who has now in return stuck the finger up. The inexplicable feeling of embarrassment, anger and raw emotion coming together when something so indescribable had just happened.

So in conclusion, does the word itself show intelligence no, rather the situation it is presented in. Go on my friends and use it however if this is the case. Just don’t be the ass in the BMW!
